साल 2025 Indian Rupee के लिए एक बेहद tough और historic साल रहा। Market volatility के साथ-साथ US protectionism और India के macroeconomic pressures ने मिलकर एक “perfect storm” बनाया। Trump administration की aggressive trade policies के चलते भारत पर tariffs August तक 50% तक पहुंच गए, जिसमें Russian oil पर 25% surcharge बड़ा झटका रहा।
Vietnam और China पर comparatively lower tariffs से India का “China Plus One” advantage कमजोर पड़ा। इसका असर textiles, gems & jewellery और marine exports जैसे labour-intensive sectors पर साफ दिखा।
December 2025 में Rupee ₹90–₹91 के psychological levels पार कर गया। FII outflows, rising trade deficit और RBI का market-driven stance Rupee को Asia का worst performer बना गए। Imported inflation बढ़ी और GDP growth पर 0.3–0.5% का दबाव आया।
हालांकि Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, export diversification और संभावित India-US BTA ने 2026 के लिए नई उम्मीदें जगा दीं।
