फेयरनेस क्रीम 'फेयर एंड लवली' का बदला नाम, बिपाशा बसु, ऋचा चड्ढा समेत इन सेलेब्रिटीज ने जताई खुशी

कंपनी की फेयरनेस क्रीम 'फेयर एंड लवली' में से बहुत जल्द 'फेयर' शब्द को हट जाएगा. जिस पर कई सेलेब्रिटीज खुशी जाहिर की है.

लोकप्रिय फेयरनेस क्रीम ब्रांड फेयर एंड लवली ने अपने प्रोडक्ट से 'फेयर' शब्द को हटाने का निर्णय लिया है और कंपनी के इस फैसले का ऋचा चड्ढा, बिपाशा बसु और अभय देओल जैसे बॉलीवुड के सितारों ने स्वागत किया. हिंदुस्तान यूनिलीवर लिमिटेड ने गुरुवार को ऐलान किया कि वह अपने बेस्ट सेलिंग फेयरनेस क्रीम 'फेयर एंड लवली' के नाम से 'फेयर' शब्द को हटाने जा रहे हैं. इस फैसले की लोगों ने भरपूर सराहना की.

बिपाशा ने इस पर लिखा, "बड़े होने के दौरान मुझे यह अकसर सुनने को मिलता था कि बॉनी, सोनी से ज्यादा डार्क है. वह थोड़ी सी सांवली है ना? मेरी मां भी डस्की ब्यूटी हैं और मैं काफी हद तक उन जैसी दिखती हूं. मुझे बिल्कुल नहीं पता कि जब मैं छोटी थी, तो दूर के रिश्तेदार इस विषय पर चर्चा ही क्यों करते थे. 15-16 साल की उम्र में मैंने जब मॉडलिंग करना शुरू किया, तो उस वक्त मैंने सुपरमॉडल कॉन्टेस्ट में जीत हासिल की थी..हर अखबार में यह लिखा गया कि कोलकाता की सांवली लड़की विजेता रही. मुझे फिर से इस बात पर आश्चर्य हुआ कि सांवलापन मेरी पहली विशेषता है??"

From the time I was growing up I heard this always,”Bonnie is darker than Soni.She is little dusky na?“Even though my mother is a dusky beauty and I look a lot like her.I never knew why that would be a discussion by distant relatives when I was a kid. Soon at 15/ 16 I started modelling and then I won the supermodel contest ... all newspapers read ... dusky girl from Kolkata is the winner.I wondered again why Dusky is my first adjective ??? Then I went to New York and Paris to work as a model and I realised my skin colour was exotic there and I got more work and attention because of it. Another discovery of mine:) Once I came back into India and film offers started... and finally I did my first film and from an absolute Ajnabee to Hindi film industry ...I suddenly was accepted and loved. But the adjective stayed which I started liking and loving by then.DUSKY girl wows the audiences in her debut film. In most of my articles for all the work I did,my duskiness seemed to be the main discussion.. it attributed to my sex appeal apparently.And sexy in Bollywood started getting accepted widely.I never really understood this... To me sexy is the personality not just the colour of your skin...why my skin colour only sets me apart from the conventional actresses at that time.But that’s the way it was.I didn’t really see much of difference but I guess people did.There was a strong mindset of Beauty and how an actress should look and behave.I was DIFFERENT as it was pointed out. Didn’t really stop me from being and doing all that I loved. Well you see I was confident and proud of who I was from childhood.My skin colour didn’t define me ... even though I love it and wouldn’t want it to be any different ever. Many skin care endorsements with loads of money was offered to me in the last 18 years ( some were very tempting)... but I stuck to my principle always. All this needs to stop. This wrong dream that we are selling ... that only fair is lovely and beautiful when the majority of the country is brown skinned. It’s a deep rooted stigma. It’s a mammoth step from the brand... and other brands should follow in the same footsteps soon????

वह यह भी लिखती हैं, "पिछले 18 सालों में मुझे फेयरनेस क्रीम के विज्ञापनों के कई लुभावने ऑफर आए, लेकिन मैं हमेशा अपने सिद्धांतों पर अड़ी रही. इन सबका बंद होना जरूरी है. ये जो गलत सपने हम बेच रहे हैं कि केवल फेयर ही लवली और खूबसूरत है, जबकि देश के अधिकतर लोग सांवले ही हैं. दूसरे ब्रांड्स को भी जल्द ही इन कदमों का अनुसरण करना चाहिए."

एक्ट्रेस ऋचा चड्ढा लिखती हैं, "नॉट फेयर बट लवली, साल 2015 में मैंने अपने टी-शर्ट में इसे प्रिंट कराया था. कल 'फेयर एंड लवली' ब्रांड और मैं आखिरकार एक साथ इस विषय पर सहमत हुए हैं. कल उन्होंने अपने प्रोडक्ट के नाम से 'फेयर' शब्द को हटा दिया."

Yesterday, the brand @fairandlovely_id and I were finally in agreement! ????????????❤️Yesterday, they dropped the word FAIR from their product name... Before you attack the brand for only paying ‘lip service’, please remember, it takes many generations for ideas to change. There is demand and hence there is supply...We have been told since we were children, that fairness is the only definition of beauty! It is also another unfortunate byproduct of colonialism and casteism! But it’s 2020, and a lot of BS is getting dismantled !
