The Golf GTI arrives in India as a potent hot hatch that combines sharp performance with everyday usability. Its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivers around 265 PS and 370 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in about 5.9 seconds.  On the road and track (at NATRAX) it feels agile and composed — the electronic front differential helps tame torque steer, while the chassis remains confidence-inspiring through corners. Inside, the build quality, materials and technology are up to Volkswagen’s global standards, and the performance mode adds real thrill. However, the low 136 mm ground clearance renders it less forgiving on India’s rough roads, and at this premium price point, missing items like powered seats and DCC dampers are felt.  All in all, for enthusiasts willing to compromise comfort for excitement, this GTI delivers.
