Pradhanmantri Series is an effort by ABP News to break the common perception
that the news television is more than just the speed news churner. It has successfully
tried to bring in some important pages of history to life with modern relevance.
“Pradhanmantri Season -II" will discuss the ideas which
will give India its due place in the comity of great nations.
Long painstaking research, collection of rare documents and footage are some of the
exclusive and strong features of the series. Specially set design, cinematography, and
dramatization, rather than leaks, have been used to make a series more direct and
uncompromising. An absorbing evidence-based news-series of an international standard
will be aired weekly.
Pradhanmantri- Season II will be presented by internationally acclaimed director,
producer, and actor, Shekhar Kapur, who also hosted the first season of the show. Golden
Globe-winning director Shekhar Kapur had made lush, international period films—such as
Elizabeth and The Four Feathers—and Indian hits like Mr. India and Bandit Queen.
Kapur is a visionary filmmaker and storyteller who works at the intersection of
art, myth, and activism. As a narrative, he has effectively brought in the same
qualities to Pradhanmantri.
Season 1
"Pradhanmantri Season - I" depicted some of the most important incidents and developments that have shaped the destiny of independent India. Some of the important pages from India’s contemporary history such as integration of all princely states, nationalization of banks, declaration of emergency in India – have been recreated with rare footage from archives.
