Tesla officially entered the Indian market in 2025 with the launch of the Model Y, priced from ₹59.89 lakh for the RWD variant and ₹67.89 lakh for the Long Range AWD version. The Model Y offers an impressive WLTP range of up to 622 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Despite its premium pricing due to high import duties, Tesla’s cutting-edge technology, autopilot features, and Supercharger network attract tech-savvy buyers. However, it faces stiff competition from rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, BYD Sealion 7, and luxury EVs like the BMW iX1 and Mercedes-Benz EQA, all of which offer competitive features, performance, and better pricing in the Indian EV landscape.
