Chinese EV startup Leapmotor, in a joint venture with Stellantis (Leapmotor International), is set to launch the C10 electric SUV in India soon, positioning it as a strong rival to other premium EVs. The C10 is a D-segment, family-oriented crossover built on Leapmotor’s LEAP3.0 architecture, featuring a claimed 420 km WLTP range and with safety credentials like a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. It will compete in India with EVs like the BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV, Creta EV and Maruti e-VX, bringing in features such as ADAS Level-2, large touchscreen, 7 airbags, and 360-degree camera. The company may begin with CBU (completely built units) imports and explore local CKD assembly later to bring costs down.
