Union Budget 2026 से पहले Indian Rice Exporters’ Federation (IREF) ने rice export sector के लिए focused और sustainable policy support की मांग की है। Federation का कहना है कि budget में ऐसे fiscal और trade measures हों जो basmati और non-basmati दोनों rice exports को मजबूत करें, साथ ही farmers income और environmental balance को प्राथमिकता दें। IREF के अनुसार rice exports भारतीय economy, rural livelihoods और global food security के लिए अहम हैं।
लेकिन sector groundwater depletion, rising input costs, logistics bottlenecks, procurement और storage पर बढ़ते fiscal burden और global market volatility जैसी चुनौतियों से जूझ रहा है। Federation ने AWD, DSR, laser land levelling और energy-efficient milling जैसी water-saving और low-emission technologies को tax incentives और investment support से जोड़ने, premium basmati, GI-tagged, organic और speciality varieties को बढ़ावा देने, export credit पर interest subvention, freight facilitation और RoDTEP scheme जारी रखने की मांग की है।
सही policy push से भारत global rice market में अपनी स्थिति और मजबूत कर सकता है।
